     I am thrilled to share a personal journey that intertwines with the legacy of Walt Disney himself. One of my most exciting projects involves translating "The Walt Disney Railroad Story," a seminal work by Michael Broggie that takes us on a journey into Walt Disney’s profound passion for trains—a subject close to his heart.

     My connection with Michael Broggie and his book began several years ago when I encountered his captivating narrative. Unaware of its existence prior, I was immediately drawn in by the charm and detail of Michael's recounting of his uncle Walt's adventures with railroads. After devouring the book, I reached out to Michael with a proposal that would eventually take years to come to fruition: translating this masterpiece into Spanish.

     Year after year, at the annual gathering at Walt Disney World and the "Un Meeting," I persisted. Each time, I posed the same question about beginning the translation, only to be met with Michael's humorous yet frustrating response, "Let's see Gil, I'm still thinking about it." Persistence paid off last year when, to my astonishment, Michael finally agreed with a resolute "Let's do it."

     I am both humbled and honored to announce that the translation is now underway. Although the task is daunting, the excitement of bringing this story to the Latin American audience is immeasurable. I am eager for millions of Latin fans of Walt Disney, to experience and cherish "The Walt Disney Railroad Story" as profoundly as I have and to enjoy it even more through the lens of our shared language.
